The Palm Beach Museum of Natural History
at the
Boynton Beach Mall
The Museum is pleased to announce its plan, made possible by a generous offer by Simon Properties, to establish its first permanent location in Palm Beach County at the Boynton Beach Mall. The site, which will be in excess of 5,000 sq. ft., will offer a museum retail store, paleontology and archaeology labs and storage space, a multi-use classroom, and an exhibit gallery. The gallery will host a number of planned traveling exhibits developed by the museum and presented on a rotating schedule. The premier exhibit will be "Expedition Dinosaur" which will feature the Triceratops Cheryll and Henry plus our new Nanotyrannosaurus. Additional displays will include Raid of the Raptors - a mother Psittacosaurus defending her nest from two of the Museum's new Troodon raptors; Pachycephalosaur, protoceratop, and archaeoceratop skeletons; dinosaur eggs; a display of the Museum's sensatioanl recent discovery of the first insects in amber from the Hell Creek Formation, fossil birds and Pteranodons; an icthyosaurus; and a replica skull of the famous Tyrannosaurus Stan.
Look for "Expedition Dinosaur" in early 2011 to be follwed by an expanded "Expedition Ice Age" the following summer.
