Ice Age
Expedition
Ice Age offers
a view of Florida during
the Peistocene Epoch (approximately 2.6 million to 10,000
years ago) when much of North America was covered in ice and
the environment of Florida was radically different. The central
focus of the exhibit is a full-size replica of a Saber-Toothed
Cat and a number of replica skulls representing animals commonly
found in Florida during the Ice Ages. The exhibit is supplemented
with a variety of actual fossil bones and shells from the
PBMNH collections.
